Self & Match for Home
Promotes self-monitoring as a behavior strategy - modified for use in the home. It is basically a point system (where you can only earn points - never have points taken away). The number of points earned can be equal to preferred items that the child can earn (the most points = highly preferred items).
Using Timers for Transitioning:
Transitioning can be another difficult concept during this kind of unpredictable time. Transitioning between locations in the house, transitioning from one activity to the next especially when it is from a more preferred activity to a less preferred activity, can all be challenging for a child. Tips:
Can use a kitchen timer, microwave timer, a phone or tablet timer
Make sure your child can see the timer and can prepare for it ending
