Class Rules
1) All School Rules apply in the classroom. See student handbook for more information.
2) Be on time. Students who walk in AFTER the bell will be marked tardy. Students should be ready for class as soon as period begins.
3) All safety drills are to be taken seriously. Inappropriate behavior will NOT be tolerated.
4) Students are NOT permitted to use Cell Phones during instruction, unless we are using them for Educational Purposes. Students may be permitted to use their Cell Phones to listen to music with earbuds/headphones when completing classwork at the teacher’s discretion. However, the teacher reserves the right to remove the privilege if cell phones become a distraction. If Cell Phones are used at non-designated times, they will be confiscated and returned to the student at the end of class. If the cell phone needs to be confiscated again, it will be brought to the office.
5) Students are NOT permitted to charge Cell Phones in the classroom outlets; However, students may use a portable charger. Again, the teacher reserves the right to remove the privilege if Cell Phones become a distraction.
6) We are a learning community where everyone is respected at all times. Everyone has the right to feel welcome, safe, and comfortable.
7) Ask questions!! Be an active learner. I am here to help. I am available after school (2:43-3:08pm Monday*-Thursday). *Unless attending staff meetings
Homework:
The reading of material, the practice of skills and the reinforcement of content is critical to a student’s academic development. Work completed at home is an extension of the learning that occurs in the classroom. These assignments are the student’s responsibility and will be evaluated through performance-based assessments. Students and parents can monitor academic progress via the Genesis Parent Portal at their convenience.

Appointments with Guidance must be made in advance as per the student handbook. Should an emergency arise, I will notify Guidance ASAP.
4) The bell only indicates that instructional time is over. It does not dismiss you from my class. I will dismiss you from class and make sure you have enough time to get to your next class.
5) You are welcome to email me anytime you have questions or concerns regarding homework, classwork, or overall academic performance. Grades and assignments will be posted on Genesis. Please see me if you do not have access to Genesis.
6) Calculators will be numbered. Every student will have an assigned graphing calculator that he/she can use during class. Graphing calculators are NOT permitted to leave the classroom at any time. All graphing calculators MUST be put back in the calculator case before the end of the period/when you leave for your next class.

9) Students will have opportunities to receive extra points each Marking Period. These opportunities only include watching Ed Puzzle Videos. These videos are designed to provide additional help with specific material. Each student must create an Ed Puzzle account and join the correct class. Every video watched will be equivalent to earning two extra points. Some videos will require you to answer a few questions during the video.
Required Materials: Students need to bring their materials to class daily.
Notebook (1”-1½” three-ring binder is recommended), Handouts will usually be three-hole punched for convenience. Make sure you have loose leaf paper.
· Sharpened (or mechanical) pencils. Making mistakes in math class helps us to learn. Pencils make it easier to make mistakes and correct them while keeping notes neat and organized.
· Students need a computer with internet access for the school website, my website, as well as other resources.
o If access to technology is a problem, students/parents should speak with their teacher right away to discuss alternative options.
· Folders or additional binders should be kept at home or in lockers to store notes and handouts that are no longer in immediate use. Throwing away notes is discouraged as there will be quizzes, tests, and a final exam at the end of the school year.
· Colored pencils are recommended but not required.
· It is a good idea to have a ruler for home use when graphing.
· Students are also encouraged to bring their own tissues and hand sanitizer.
I am looking forward to working with all of you! I know that we will have a great successful school year!
