Wedge clay for no air and knead a ball of clay
Push your thumb into the center of the ball, leaving about ½” of clay on the bottom
Pinch the clay between your thumb and fingers to make a consistent pot shape.
Ensure the clay is about ¼” thick all around
The opening will become a feature for your creature. Shape accordingly

If you start with a weak base you cannot build on it.Create a strong structure to become a feature that will hold other clay pieces.

- Use a second ball or slab to cut pieces for eyes, a tongue, tail, horns, or other features (follow requirements)
- Add details to each feature before attaching them to the pinch pot.
- Each piece should be created, detailed, allowed to rest/dry and then added afterwards using score+slip

Using the needle tool, wooden tools, and texture plates, create the features apart from the base. Have them perfect and then add to base using score and slip.

Attach the features
Attach the features
- Scratch the "leather like" pinch pot and the piece to be added with a pointed tool
- Add a little water to the scratched areas
- Push and twist the feature into place
- Use the wooden tool to pull down the clay around attached piece to blend.
- Edges should look clean
- Features should stand out and remain attached

When adding anything to clay you MUST complete this process. Otherwise it will fall off as it dries.
