There is a lot of media out there. There are movies, TV shows, soap operas, live theatre, music, social media, blogs, video games, books, podcasts, YouTube videos, and more. With such a wide variety of media to consume, it's easy to get buried in it. Many choose not to take recommendations from others because they already have a lot of things they want to experience on their own, or they can be so glutted with choice that they get overwhelmed with what to watch. I have your solution: a newer addition to the internet zeitgeist: Slushy Noobz.
Background:
Slushy Noobz is a YouTube channel created by the Canadian duo Hamzah (also known as Hamzah the Fantastic) and Martin (also known as That Martin Kid). Before creating their channel together, both were known internet personalities. Martin was a viral TikToker known for making comedic skits, while Hamzah was a part of the group 4freakshow, which ran from 2020 to 2021 and featured him and three of his friends in comedic Zoom calls during lockdown. Their YouTube channel together was created in May 2023, and their first video came out on May 21, 2023.
Content:
Martin and Hamzah post a variety of things on their channel, including gaming videos, vlogs, collabs, mukbangs, and baking videos.
Why you should watch them:
There are multiple reasons why you should watch Slushy Noobz. For one, their variety. As I previously mentioned, they post a wide variety of videos, so no matter what type of YouTube video you are in the mood for, they have you covered.
Another reason is that they are laugh-out-loud funny. When I watch them, I find myself having to stop the video because I am laughing so hard. There is a reason they are both famous comedians on TikTok: they are both hilarious and work amazingly together. Every one of their videos feels like you’re just hanging out with your two friends.
You should also watch them because of how new they are. As I said before, the channel has only been around since 2023, meaning it isn’t even two years old, and they’re also only at 600k subscribers, which is still a lot but not a huge amount. People always talk about being fans of underground musicians before they blow up, so now you can be a fan of this underground YouTube channel before it blows up. Granted, Martin and Hamzah both have over a million TikTok followers and have been known for years, but that’s beside the point.
One bonus reason to watch them is that they are also on other social media platforms. As I previously mentioned, they are both famous on TikTok. Some of the funniest TikToks I’ve seen on the app came from them, so I recommend you check those out too.
Video Recommendations:
“We Had a Bed War (Sorry Youtube)”
This is my first recommendation because I laughed super hard at this video. It serves as a good introductory video because you get a sense of their relationship, their comedy style, and it’s a gaming video, which constitutes the majority of the content they create. In this video, Martin and Hamzah play Minecraft Bed Wars, and Martin is not very good at it.
“Vietnamese Food Mukbang”
This is another video that made me laugh super hard. Out of all of their Mukbang/ vlog videos, this is my favorite. Even though it says Mukbang in the title, they do a bunch of activities in this video, so the video never feels stale.
“Best Day Ever Vlog”
My last recommendation is the “Best Day Ever Vlog” because this video is unlike anything else you’ll see on YouTube. The concept of this video is that they bring back people from their past videos; they bring back a driver they had in Kurasa, their server from a Vietnamese restaurant, and a security guard from a haunted house. All of these people they only met once, and they’re all older than Martin and Hamzah by double their age. In the video, they take the guests to several tourist areas around Toronto, and it is a very funny and wholesome video.
