Transition planning is an important process that helps students at Kentucky School for the Deaf prepare for life after high school. It involves setting goals, exploring career options, and developing the skills necessary for a successful transition into adulthood. 

KSD students also have several leadership opportunities, such as the KSD Junior National Association of the Deaf and the Student Body Government.
