Ho’omau Foundation is a non-profit to support Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders (NHPI) for success and development.
Ho’omau Foundation’s mission is to provide scholarships, mentorship, and networking opportunities to NHPI students who are active in the NHPI community. By combining the support for academic success and perpetuation of our culture, the foundation will help recipients succeed in their endeavors while maintaining and growing their cultural ties and identity.
The ideal recipient to receive a scholarship are NHPI who are active in the NHPI culture through teaching, language, dancing and/or engaged in the local community as a role model for youth. The ideal recipient will be committed to the community and network we are building and serve as a mentor or ambassador for future recipients.
Scholarships range from $1,000-$2,500

Ruth C. Scudder Scholarship 2026

This scholarship, established by the Women’s Society of Central Union Church in 1915 in memory of Mrs. Ruth C. Scudder, who was the wife of former CUC Pastor Dr. Doremus Scudder, is awarded to a woman of Christian affiliation from Hawaii and is attending school within the University of Hawaii system.The Scholarship Committee shall consider from the following criteria when evaluating candidates:

Community Service (30%)
Scholarship (20%)
Evidence of financial need (20%)
Only the first 10 completed applications will be reviewed. Central Union Church members and active participants are eligible to receive up to a 10% scoring bonus.Previous applicants and awardees are welcome to apply again, but will be evaluated using the same criteria as all other applicants.

Kenneth O. and Doris A. Rewick Educational Aid Fund 2026

This scholarship, established by the Central Union Church Women’s League in 1968 and later renamed the fund to honor former Senior Minister Dr. Kenneth O. Rewick, and former CUC Preschool Director Mrs. Doris A. Rewick, is awarded to students from Hawaii who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in any accredited school for undergraduate or graduate college training, or for other specialized training beyond high school.
The Scholarship Committee shall consider from the following criteria when evaluating candidates:
Character (30%)
Community Service (30%)
Scholarship (20%)
Evidence of financial need (20%)
Only the first 50 completed applications will be reviewed.
Previous applicants and awardees are welcome to apply again, but will be evaluated using the same criteria as all other applicants.

The Hawaiʻi Association for College Admission Counseling (HACAC) is pleased to offer twenty (20) $1,000 scholarships to students planning to attend a regionally accredited college, community college, or university. This one-time, non-renewable award is designed for applicants with demonstrated involvement and commitment to making a positive impact on their communities. There will be at least one student selected from each county in Hawai`i.
Applications open on March 3, 2025. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted by Monday, April 21, 2025 at 11: 59PM HST. Awardees will be notified by the end of May 2025.
