What do good readers do?
  1. If you are reading fiction, make predictions. Take a guess at what will happen next. See if you can keep predicting throughout the story. Pay attention to how the main character solves his/her problem. Fiction makes your imagination run wild.
  2. If you are reading nonfiction, pay attention to the facts of the book and the different nonfiction text features. Nonfiction makes you think about the truth in  the world.
  3. As always, good readers ask questions before, during and after  reading. They also make connections to their own lives, the world around them or with other texts The main thing is you enjoy reading by exploring different topics and genres. The more you read, the more you learn. It never gets old, and you need to read to survive and be successful in life.
