The Holopono Academic Success Center of Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Kula Kiʻekiʻe creates opportunities for students to practice skills and habits for academic success, learn with and from their peers, and reflect on their on-going development as academic scholars.   The Holopono Academic Success Center responds to the academic needs of students and affirms that each student has the ability to achieve their individual goals of academic success. 

HOLOPONO ACADEMIC SUCCESS CENTER GOALS

The Holopono Academic Success Center supports ALL Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Kula Kiʻeki’e students in pursuit of their academic goals and in doing so impact academic success by the following:

• Increase student access to support provided through in-class and after-school tutorial sessions.

• Increase students’ knowledge of behaviors and habits in reaching academic success.

• Allow peer tutors to help other students to develop skills necessary for a student to achieve their individual goals.

• Support the learning of students by providing opportunities for critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and self-reflection.

HOLOPONO ACADEMIC SUCCESS CENTER PROGRAM

The Holopono Academic Success Center Program consists of committed and dedicated faculty members that will organize the academically-personalized support for the Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Kula Kiʻekiʻe students.

The program consists of scheduled in-class tutorial assistance and after-school tutorial sessions for students.  The Holopono Academic Success Center also includes the Nāpua Peer Tutorial program where identified Kula Kiʻekiʻe students will assist their peers with achieving their academic goals.
