Kingsway Regional School District's English Department comprises grades 7-12 teachers. Teachers in the department developed the enclosed 2024 summer reading list informed by the belief that reading is a necessary part of a student's education and with a shared goal to spread the joy of reading books of all varieties.
Kingsway's student summer reading 2024 is designed to encourage students to become life-long readers by fostering an exciting and stress-free reading experience!
In keeping with District Policies 2240 and 2132, the selections offered on this summer reading list are intentionally wide-ranging and representative of different perspectives. We hope this diversity invites all students to find books of interest. Students with a first language other than English can read the text in their heritage or native language.
Please read the hyperlinked reviews to ensure the book selected is appropriate for the reader's interest and maturity level.

Selection Process: Kingsway staff from grades 7-12 submitted suggestions for summer reading. A committee then reviewed the titles submitted for review. The criteria used to select titles for the 2024 list continues a perspective adopted in 2023 and attends to the inclusion of different perspectives in preparation for the topics covered in the school curriculum the following school year and include topics based on gender, race, heritage, and student interest.
Suggestions: This reading list is not all-inclusive; we welcome suggestions for books to refine the reading experience for students in the summer of 2025. If you would like to suggest a text, please click the "Recommend a Book" tab at the top of the screen or HERE.
