The Work of Art

Preparations are underway for a party upstairs, so ten-year-old Belinda–a gifted storyteller–is relegated to the basement.

There, using both English and Spanish to express herself, she’ll need to use everyday objects, like napkins and teapots, to tell her latest story: a reimagining of the fairy tale Cinderella. Along the way, she’ll confront her stepmother and stepsisters, build upon her love of poetry, and assert herself–ultimately creating a personal story about cultural heritage, family, and the power of language.
