Kezia Yifru "Socratic Dialogue"
Encouraging students to engage in critical discourse in the classroom has become increasingly difficult and at the same time has become increasingly essential. Incorporating different methods using Socratic Dialogue can enhance learning for EL students, students with IEPs and 504s and engage all students in critical thinking practices. Learn how to increase student participation and support your students with using evidence to support their analysis of both fiction and nonfiction texts.
Ruby Chavez "Culturally-Relevant Teaching: Memes, Music, and Social Media"
This workshop is designed to empower educators with culturally relevant techniques to better connect with students. Participants will explore the significance of integrating research into their practices and learn to use engaging tools like Giphy, music, and Social Media in counseling sessions. The workshop includes live demonstrations, interactive activities, and case studies to highlight effective applications of these tools. Attendees will also participate in group discussions, access curated resources, and engage in Q&A sessions to deepen their understanding. By the end, participants will be equipped with actionable strategies to enhance their cultural competence and improve teaching and relationship building outcomes for students.
Jenny Spiteri "Chat Circles"
The workshop will be about the effectiveness of teaching in a circle. Students will walk away after participating in one themselves with ideas on how to use them for community building, listening, sharing ideas, and using the circle in all subject matters to give everyone a voice.
Lisa Rivera "Offline Coding in the Classroom"
This workshop will demonstrate ways to bring coding into the classroom for grades K-5 without being connected to the internet. I will demonstrate how to incorporate coding into everyday lessons in the classroom. Participants will also be able to try these offline coding tools in person.
Elisabeth Bonnet "Paper Sculpture"
I have a series of paper scultpure STeAM activities that i find enticing. I link them to art/job awareness. The activity leads to trouble shouting. It is easily linked to literary activities.
Daniel Kline "Building Confidence and Joy through Math Puzzles and Games "
Since 2007, the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival (jrmf.org) has brought fun and meaningful math experiences to thousands of students, teachers, and parents throughout the US. In this workshop, you'll get to play with some of our favorite hands-on, play-based math puzzles and games. Every activity is designed to help students develop fundamental problem solving skills found in the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice, including making conjectures, finding patterns, and creating arguments. By the end of the workshop, you'll learn about free and low-cost resources to help you bring these activities into your classroom, home, and school community. You'll also get to take home a free puzzle booklet so that you can start sharing joyful math right away!

SchoolAI is a powerful AI tool that teachers can use every day to power up lessons and make teaching easier. Using tools, you can create helpful AI generated documents. Using assistants, you have AI assistants for a variety of different tasks. My favorite, though, are SchoolAI's spaces where you can create custom AI for your students to interact with by entering your own specific instructions.
