Frequently Asked Questions for Parents & Guardians
Frequently Asked Questions for Parents & Guardians
Q: I've received an invalid registration link, what should I do?
A: If your registration link expired, you will need a new one. Please contact the Technology Department at kp-it-help@kpcsd.org and ask for a new link to be sent to you.
Q: What if my contact information is incorrect, or needs to be updated?
A: You can update your primary contact information in eSchoolData's Parent Portal. You can also call your child's school office and ask for your contact information to be updated. After the school updates the information, the new contact details will be in ParentSquare the next day.
Q: My email is correct in ParentSquare. Why am I not receiving emails?
A: Please check your spam to see if any ParentSquare messages ended up there, and mark them as "Not Spam." Also add donotreply@parentsquare.com to your email contacts so your server recognizes our messages. If you still are not receiving emails, please contact the Technology Department at kp-it-help@kpcsd.org so we can assist you.
Q: How can I add another child to my account? How can I add another school to my account?
A: If you wish to add another child to your account, you will have to ensure we have your most up to date contact information and that you are associated with your child within eschool Parent Portal. ParentSquare will always reflect the most current information we have received from eschool. If you confirmed that the same email and phone number is on file for all children at all schools but you're still encountering an issue, you should contact your school(s) directly to update your contact information. The day after the change is made, you should be able to see the updated information in ParentSquare.
Q: How do I change my password?
A: Please go to https://www.parentsquare.com/signin and click "Forgot Password." Put in your email or phone number and you will be sent a link to reset your password.
Q: Is it possible to contact my child's teacher directly and privately?
A: Contact your child's teacher privately by using our direct messaging tool. If you send a message outside of typical school hours, your message will be still be delivered and available for the teacher to scheduled school hours. On the home page, click on "Messaging" in the left sidebar. From here, you can send a direct message to your child's teacher that only you and the teacher can see. You can also send messages to other staff members at the school, such as your child's coaches and club leaders. Here is a link to the ParentSquare Support page on direct messaging.
Q: English is not my first language. How can I receive content in my native language?
A: You can customize your language settings by going to "My Account" and clicking "Change This" under language settings. From here, you can choose any language you prefer from the drop down menu and you will start to receive content in that language. See this help article to change your language settings.
Q: How can I edit my sign up after selecting an appt?
A: In order to change your sign up, you must delete your existing sign up and sign up again for the correct slot. To delete your sign up, hover your mouse over your name and you will see a trash can appear to the right of your name. Click on the trash can and your sign up will be removed. Then, you can click on the "Sign Up" button that corresponds with the correct slot.
Q: I’m getting too many messages from ParentSquare or from one school. How can this be changed?
You can set your notification preferences to receive a daily digest email with all updates at the end of the day. On the web, click on your name to bring up your accounts page to update notification preferences. On the app, you can go to Account > Preferences from the triple-bar menu.
Q: Can I set different notification settings for different schools?
Yes, parents can now have different settings for each school and district. We will also be introducing text and app notification digests shortly and that will help with too many messages from school.
Q: How will the district use ParentSquare?
Just like Blackboard, ParentSquare will be used for- snow day alerts, important information, attendance alerts for secondary schools, etc. In addition, teachers will have the option of using ParentSquare to communicate with families about events, conferences, etc.
