Marksmen are ranged heroes whose power is almost entirely based on their basic attacks: by using their reach to land massive continuous damage from a distance, marksmen's are capable of taking down even the most difficult opponents when positioned behind the safety of their team, and perform better at securing objectives such as the Lord and turrets.
Winning your lane means you outplay your matchup hard enough that you gain enough gold/exp to basically do whatever you want without worrying about your matchup doing anything else. This means getting lots solo kills, freezing their lanes, and getting an early tower push if possible. This also gives your goldlaner a safer lane to farm at since the enemy has a tower disadvantage. This is easy to do with an early game exp laner like Yu Zhong, Terizla, Dyrroth, etc.
Farm efficiently: This includes clearing jungle camps quickly, securing objectives like the Turtle and Lord, and having good rotation to ensure the team has enough resources.
Gank lanes: The jungler is expected to help lanes that are struggling or need pressure. This is especially important in the early stages of the game to give the team an advantage in terms of kills and map control.
Secure objectives: Taking key objectives like the Turtle, Lord, and controlling buffs is crucial. These objectives provide buffs and gold, which are vital for winning the game.
Vision and map control: A jungler should place vision in key areas of the map, making it harder for the enemy team to invade and ensuring safe rotations for their own team.
Team fights: As the game progresses, the jungler's role in team fights becomes increasingly important. They may need to engage, peel for key teammates, or target key enemies.
Assist in Laning Phase:
The roamer's primary responsibility early in the game is to help the team's core laners (usually the marksman and the mage) during the laning phase. This includes:
Ganking enemy lanes to secure kills or force the enemies to play defensively.
Protecting the lane from enemy ganks, especially for the marksman and mage in the bottom and mid-lanes.
Creating pressure to ensure the core laners have a better chance of farming and scaling into the mid-game.
Provide Map Control: The roamer plays a pivotal role in vision control and map awareness:
Place vision around key objectives (like Turtle, Lord, and buffs) to help the team secure or contest them.
Ward dangerous areas and make sure there is no threat of jungle invades from the enemy team, especially from their jungler.
Clear enemy vision to make it harder for the enemy to set up ambushes or secure objectives.
Farming and Pushing the Mid Lane:
The midlane is usually home to the team's mage or assassin who focuses on quickly clearing waves and getting gold/experience.
Pushing the lane: A midlaner should push their lane efficiently while keeping an eye on the map. This ensures that the enemy team doesn’t gain control over the middle lane and gives the team access to important objectives.
Control and Pressure:
Midlaners often exert map pressure by positioning themselves in a way that forces enemies to react to their movements. This is particularly important in the early to mid-game, as the midlaner can rotate to side lanes and secure kills or objectives.
Midlane control is important for securing buffs and objectives, especially the Turtle or Lord, which often require the presence of the midlaner.
