Term 4 we are focusing on;

• Quick Writes to build our writing speed and stamina.

• Poetry.

• Writing texts to persuade that:

o reflect personal experiences and knowledge

o introduce a topic and clearly state a position taken on it

o organise writing into three or more paragraphs that have logically grouped ideas

o order ideas/paragraphs that are supported by facts/details from strongest to weakest

o include emotive words and phrases to persuade the reader to adopt their position

o include a range of linking words (e.g. ‘consequently’, ‘specifically’) to link the opinion and reasons

o provide a concluding paragraph related to the position taken on the topic
