11th-15th October 2026
Seoul, Korea
The 2026 CDI&E Conference will explore four primary themes—Capacitive Deionization, Faradaic Deionization, Advanced Deionization, and Deionization Applications. This year’s central focus, “Carbon Neutral Technologies” and “Sustainable Development,” underscores the growing importance of environmentally responsible and energy-efficient water treatment processes.
The program will highlight cutting-edge advances in core deionization technologies while also expanding the discussion to include both pre-treatment and post-treatment strategies. By addressing the full spectrum of deionization processes, the conference aims to promote a comprehensive, systems-level perspective for achieving sustainable, high-performance, and carbon-neutral water purification solutions.
Retirement Ceremony of Prof. Jeyong Yoon
It is our great privilege to take this moment at the 8th CDI&E Conference to honor the distinguished career of
Professor Jeyong Yoon of Seoul National University.
Professor Yoon has been a pioneering leader in environmental science and engineering, dedicating his career to advancing sustainable water and energy solutions. He has also served in prominent leadership roles, including President of Scientists and Engineers without Borders, Director of the Asian Institute of Energy and Environment Sustainability, and President of the Academic Society for Appropriate Technology.
For our community, his legacy is especially meaningful as a founding member of the CDI&E Working Group, where he helped establish and nurture this international platform for collaboration in capacitive deionization and electrochemical ion separation.
As he enters retirement, we celebrate his scientific achievements, his visionary leadership in fostering global partnerships, and his enduring impact on sustainable and appropriate technologies.
On behalf of the CDI&E community, we extend our deepest gratitude and warmest congratulations.
We sincerely thank you for your dedication and contributions.
