About Me

I grew up in Zumbrota, MN and graduated from Zumbrota-Mazeppa in 2006. I participated in a wide-range of activities from soccer, track, band and ballet to math league, SADD, Mock Trial and NHS.

I later attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where I met my husband Isaac. Funny side note, I also played bassoon on the Concordia College Band tour to Norway with now KoMet band director Tony Boldt!  In the end, I finished up college with bachelor’s degrees in both Math Education and German. After receiving VDAC and Fulbright scholarships, I spent two years living in Kassel, Germany. While there, I took math education courses and worked in a German high school as an English teaching assistant.

Then I spent seven years teaching upper level math courses (Intermediate Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, College Algebra, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus) at Southland School District in Adams, MN. In 2018, I attended St. Mary's University online to attain 18 credits in graduate level mathematics. In 2022, I completed a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction through Western Governor's University.

In 2019, we joined the KoMet family! Isaac teaches 8th grade science at the middle school and I am teaching part-time here at the high school.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with Isaac, our kids and dogs (you may see us taking walks around town together). I also like reading historical fiction novels, visiting family and friends, and being outdoors.
