Kasson Mantorville Public Schools provide support to students through a full range of special education programming. A team of special and regular education personnel work with parents to plan educational services which meets the learner’s individual needs to provide a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) to students with disabilities.
We believe:
Special education is a service not a place
All students can learn
All students are general education students first and will have access to grade-level standards
In early intervention and partnering with parents and outside agencies to identify needs early in the learning process
All students identified with a disability will be supported to meet their individual education needs
All students should and will understand their identified disability and will become an advocate in their educational process
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA '04), in conjunction with Minnesota rules and statutes, mandates that school districts find, identify, and provide special education services to students with disabilities. The Kasson Mantorville School District works with families and other agencies to meet this requirement and determine the appropriate level of support for students.
