Principal’s Message 

 

I would like to be the first to introduce you to Kasson-Mantorville Middle School.  I am beginning my fourth year as the principal at KMMS. Previously, I was the middle school principal in Stewartville, MN.  As a 2004 graduate of Kasson-Mantorville High School, I am elated to serve the communities of Kasson and Mantorville. I look forward to serving the students and families of KMMS.    

 

At Kasson-Mantorville Middle School, we firmly believe that positive and meaningful relationships between students, families, and staff are the foundations for building respectful, responsible, and productive citizens.  Furthermore, KMMS has high academic and character expectations for all students in and out of the classroom. Kasson-Mantorville prides itself on the opportunities for students to participate in various extracurricular and co-curricular activities. We know that the students and staff working together will make Kasson-Mantorville Middle School the best it can be and realize that no significant learning occurs without a meaningful relationship.


Kasson-Mantorville Middle School provides quality educational programming for students in grades 5-8 that focuses on students building and utilizing literacy skills, engaging in growth opportunities, and developing character traits for 21st Century learning.  We believe that all students can learn and succeed at high levels; therefore, Kasson-Mantorville Middle School students constantly practice responsibility, respect, safety, and hard work.  Our success at KMMS will be in direct proportion to your student's participation, effort, and application.

About Me 

I was raised in Kasson, MN, and graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 2004.  Soon after I enrolled at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. I graduated from UWRF in 2009 with a B.S. degree in Broad Field Social Studies.  In 2011, I enrolled at St. Mary's University of Minnesota and pursued a special education license in EBD/LD. I graduated in 2013 with an M.A. degree in special education. In 2017, I graduated from Concordia - St. Paul with an Ed.S. degree in Educational Leadership.

 

I started my teaching career in Rochester Public Schools.  I taught 8th grade social studies at Friedell Middle School in Rochester, MN.  In 2014, I continued my teaching career in Stewartville. For two years I taught 8th grade Global Studies before accepting a position as the Dean of Students at the high school and middle school in Stewartville. I am beginning my fourth year as principal of Kasson-Mantorville Middle School.

 

I am the proud husband to my wife Heather.  Together we have four beautiful children. Anabelle is 11, Emsley is 9, Henrik is 6, and Loralie is 4 years old.
