A little bit about Mr. Christensen:
As a former KoMet Graduate, way back in 2001, I know what it is like to "Bleed KoMet Blue". I have been signing the KoMet fight song for over thirty years. Often times teachers are asked why they became a teacher, my answer is simple: I want to leave behind a positive legacy. Being a part of this community means something to me and I want to ensure I am continuing the high quality education my teacher's provided me at KM.
After graduation, I earned my bachelor and master degrees from Winona State University. I earned my bachelor's degree in 2007, with a focus on Elementary Education and Middle School Social Studies. I completed my master's degree in 2010, with a focus on Education Leadership and Sports Management.
My wife, Angela, is also a KM graduate and we reside in northwest Kasson. Our daughter, Nora, starts fourth grade this year. We also have a four year old Golden-doodle, George. We spend our free time shuttling Nora to her various sporting events, having family movie nights, and cheering on the New York Yankees. I enjoy hunting & fishing, spending time with my high school buddies, and supporting our community through my role on the Kasson City Council.
This upcoming school year will be my 15th year teaching in the Kasson-Mantorville School District. This will be my second year teaching 5th & 6th Grade Math (KMMS Room 601). I spent my first ten years teaching Third Grade and three years teaching Fourth Grade at KMES.
This school year I will be teaming with Mr. Olson (Science), Mr. Robertson (Social Studies) and Mrs. Wohfiel (Language Arts). The math curriculum for 5th grade is Bridges Math, similar to the curriculum used at the elementary school. Sixth grade uses enVisions Math.
