Welcome
Ryan Mingone (Mr. M)
Project Lead The Way/ Woodworking / S.T.E.A.M.
About Me
I live in Zumbrota with my Wife and Son. I enjoy doing a great many things like designing games, playing music and making things. I have been teaching Art for 9 years and I am excited to use my passion for engineering, woodworking, building and problem solving to teach STEAM/ PLTW. I am looking forward to using engineering challenges and craft projects to teach students creative problem solving, critical thinking, and and many other things in a fun-centered and engaging way. It's important to me that my students enjoy being in the classroom while also working hard and bringing out their best self. And of course, safety first.
What will students do in my classes?
In PLTW we will solve engineering problems by doing explorative hands-on activities using K'nex, Robotics, and more. We will learn how to methodologically solve problems through testing and critical thinking. Major areas of study include Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.).
In Woodworking, students will get a safety certification to use basic tools and begin crafting right away. We will make personal projects to take home as well as community projects, like Birdhouses and Benches.
