Welcome
Hello, my name is Eric Averbeck and I started teaching at Kasson-Mantorville High School during the 2017-18 school year. I will be teaching the Honors Intermediate Algebra, Enriched Intermediate Algebra, and Algebra Concepts courses this year.
I grew up on a small family dairy farm near Alma, Wisconsin, and graduated from Alma High School. After high school, I attended Winona State University, where I earned my Secondary Education: Mathematics degree. I taught and long-term subbed in Lake City, Pine Island, and Dover-Eyota my first few years of teaching. I then taught for seven years at Rochester Lourdes High School before coming to K-M.
My main hobbies include playing softball, bowling, pickleball, shooting pool, and I'm an officer for the Zumbro Area Eagles Club in Rochester. I am also a collector of Allis-Chalmers and Oliver items. My wife, Elizabeth, is a Social Studies teacher here at K-M. We do not have any children of our own, but we have a dog, Ike. Ike is a White German Shepard Husky mix.
Please feel free to email me at e.averbeck@komets.k12.mn.us if you have any questions or concerns.
I look forward to another great year here at K-M!
