Sara Winkels

Hello! My name is Sara Winkels. I grew up in Rochester, MN. I live with my husband, two daughters and three dogs. Our family enjoys spending our summers together boating on the Mississippi River.

I have been the EL teacher at Kasson-Mantorville Schools for 22 years. I obtained my grades 1-6 Elementary Education and K-12 TESOL degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I also have my Master in Education degree from Winona State University. 

I highly enjoy my position at KM and the opportunity I have to work with diverse learners as they grow their English language skills. Our EL staff has grown and I have a great team of bilingual paraprofessionals. We strive to make our students feel welcome and safe at school when they are new to the country and encourage the best learning experience. Go KoMets!
