Alyssa Swanson

All About Mrs. Swanson -

Education: I grew up in Blue Earth, MN and graduated from BEA High School in 2010. I attended Riverland Community College while in High School where I obtained my Associates Degree. Following High School I attended The University of South Dakota for 1.5 years before transferring to MSU - Mankato to get my MN Special Education Teaching Degree and License. I continued on and completed my Master's in Special Education and Work Based Learning Coordinator this past summer.

Personal Life: After college I met my husband, Jordan. We got married in 2016 and now have 3 amazing kids! As a family we love to camp and spend time outside. Home life is busy with 3 kids 5 and under but I wouldn't change a thing!

Professional Life: I started teaching in 2014 at United South Central Schools working with students in 7th grade - transition. In 2015 my husband and I moved to Kasson and I began teaching at K-M. When I started at K-M I taught early childhood through 3rd grade special education. In January 2017 I made the move to the High School. I love my job here at K-M and I am excited to begin my 7th year in my current position.
