Management Information System

This course introduces business students to the role of Management Information Systems (MIS) in modern organisations. Emphasis is placed on how information technologies support business processes, decision-making, and competitive advantage. Topics include data and knowledge management, enterprise systems,  e-business and mobile commerce, social media and customer engagement, cybersecurity, IT strategy, and emerging technologies such as cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

Through case studies, discussions, and practical projects, students will develop the ability to evaluate and apply IT solutions in business contexts. The course does not require a technical background and is designed to provide future managers with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about information systems in their careers.

Health Information System

This course offers a comprehensive exploration of the healthcare information systems industry, encompassing, its historical evolution, recent advancements, ongoing obstacles, and hands-on insights into healthcare information systems procurement and deployment. Key topics covered include meaningful use,Electronic Health Records (EHR), Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE), and Health Information

Exchange (HIE).

Computer Application for Business

Computer applications for business course focuses on business applications including power point, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and business-oriented utilization of the Internet. This course prepares students to succeed in the business world by enabling them to write business reports, analyze and chart data and build small database applications. Throughout this course, the students will learn new business database applications including customer relationship management, marketing and sales, production and manufacturing and inventory management.

Computer Skills

Computer Skills course is designed to familiarize students with computers and its applications. It will also emphasize the use of computers and technology throughout their university and future careers. Students will learn fundamental concepts of computer hardware and software, Microsoft Windows operating system and become familiar with a variety of computer applications, including word-processing, spreadsheets, and multimedia presentations. Students will also investigate Internet-based applications, working with email and learning how to browse the web. Coursework also includes activities that explore social and ethical issues related to computers.
