Vision and Mission

Kokomo School Corporation's mission is to develop globally minded and compassionate lifelong learners for a changing world. At Maple Crest STEM Middle School, we empower all students and staff to apply higher-level learning skills gained through problem solving, critical thinking, communication and collaboration in an ever-changing global community. Our mission and vision include all students in our diverse population. We have worked diligently to develop curriculum maps and integrated STEM units to meet the needs of our student population. Instructionally, teachers are more inquiry and problem-based in their approach. Teachers and students embrace technology as a tool to improve learning. Classrooms have been made to allow for more collaboration than they have been in the past, and Maple Crest STEM Middle School is one-to-one computing. In thinking about the vision for Maple Crest STEM Middle School, there is an expressed sense of accomplishment and a desire to continue to build on the work that has been done over the years as a school.
