The Kohler High School Madrigal Singers is an auditioned group of 16-20 vocal students. The Madrigals sing traditional Renaissance music and an assortment of holiday carols. This group performs for various audiences in the Sheboygan area in November and December. Madrigals also sing at the winter concert, district solo & ensemble, and at state music festivals. The ensemble meets once a week after school for regular rehearsals throughout the fall semester. Students must be enrolled in high school choir to audition and participate in Madrigals.
The Madrigal Singers are directed by Ms. Stokes.

The Madrigals are currently accepting performance requests for the 2024 Holiday Season.
After a successful* season in Madrigals or Voce, a member of these ensembles will be invited back for the next season. Returning members will not need to formally audition. A student’s work during a season serves as the audition for the next season. If a student does not have a successful season in either ensemble they may be asked to re-audition or meet with Ms. Stokes to discuss their involvement in the ensemble(s).
*Successful seasons include but are not limited to meaningful participation, music preparedness, positive collaboration, professionalism, reliability and meeting the school’s activity code of conduct.
New students interested in joining Madrigals or Voce will be notified by Ms. Stokes of openings in the ensemble. Openings are based on returning members and graduating seniors.
New students will audition for Madrigals at the end of the school year (May or June) in preparation for the following fall. Students auditioning for Voce will audition in November each year for the following spring season of Voce.
All members of Madrigals or Voce must be enrolled in the High School Concert Choir.
