Hiroaki Shigemasu received his PhD in psychology from the University of Tokyo. After working at the Intelligent Modeling Laboratory at the University of Tokyo and the Intelligent Sensing System Research Center at Toyohashi University of Technology, he is currently a professor in the School of Informatics at Kochi University of Technology. His research focuses on investigating the mechanisms of human perception and cognition using psychophysical methods, functional brain imaging, and virtual reality technology.
