In our elementary technology class, early learners build foundational digital literacy skills through hands-on, age-appropriate activities. We focus on turning curiosity into confidence, teaching students how to navigate devices, understand digital tools, and practice safe technology habits.
Keyboarding & Finger Placement: Using Typing.com, students build fine motor control, muscle memory, and proper hand positioning through interactive, game-based lessons.
Speed & Accuracy Building: Through TypingTest.com, students track their personal progress over time, focusing on accuracy first and gradually increasing typing speed.
Basic Computer Navigation: Learning how to use a mouse/trackpad, manage browser tabs, click and drag, and log in independently.
Digital Citizenship: Understanding how to use technology safely, respectfully, and responsibly both in the classroom and at home.
Our goal is to ensure every student develops the key tech habits and keyboarding confidence they need to support their learning across all subjects.
