When you are applying for a job you will go through an interview process. During an interview, you will be asked questions about why you should get the job. It's your time to show the best you! Here are some tips on how to have a successful interview.

Talk about it:

  • What did you notice about the interviews?

  • What went well?

  • If you were the kids how would you be feeling?

  • What could have gone better?

  • What would you do if you didn't understand the question an interviewer asked you?

Before The Interview

Prepare to build confidence

Preparing beforehand can give you the confidence you need to have a successful interview. Here are some tips on how you can prepare:

  • Be on time – plan your transport ahead of time"

Take time to Calm Your nerves

Interviews can be scary. Take time before the interview to calm your brain and body with a mindful moment.

At The Interview

Be aware of your body language

  • Sit up tall

  • Make eye contact

  • Look at the speaker

  • Sit up straight

Give a firm handshake

A handshake is a polite way to greet someone and give them respect.

  • Be firm, but don't hurt them

  • Look them in the eye


Be a Good listener

Make sure you are actively listening to the interviewer. You can do this by

  • looking at them

  • turning your body to face them

  • nodding along

  • thinking about what they are saying

Sell yourself

Take Time to say thank you

Take time to write an email or letter that says "thank you." You can also call the interviewer and thank them for their time.
