Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which students acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotional, set and achieve positive goals, feel, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
SEL can be a significant part of a student's overall education. Targeting the development of these skills can help prepare students for a productive future.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline - 988
The Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is 988. When people call, text, or chat with the 988 Lifeline, they are connected to trained counselors. The counselors provide free and confidential emotional support and crisis counseling to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress, and connect them to resources. These services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the united states.

If your student is experiencing an emotional crisis, please call Mobile Crisis at 865-539-2409. If you have an immediate emergency, please call 911 or visit your local hospital emergency room.
McNabb Family Walk-In Center
The McNabb Walk-In Center is open from 8am-8pm, 7 days a week. The counselors at the Walk-In Center will seek to meet the need of acute outpatient assessment, response, referral, and treatment services for children needing additional support in their natural environments. This program will also have 24/7 wrap around on-call to respond to clinical crisis needs and connect to treatment services throughout the day. The Walk-In Center is located at 5645 Merchants Center Blvd. (far left door) and their phone number is 865-257-9982.
