Tri-M is a music honor society. Its three "M"s stand for Modern Music Masters. This association was established to expand the extent of musical education in schools. It was founded in 1936 by Alexander Harvey and his wife, Frances. Students are intended to customize their chapters to fit the needs of their schools.

All chapters of Tri-M are encouraged to do service projects of their choosing to benefit their schools and/or community as well as further music education. The organization is meant to inspire music participation, create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, and promote leadership within the music students of secondary schools.
