Knox County R-I School District Bus Project

The Knox County R-I School District along with local rural electric coops had been researching electric school buses for two years, and we were extremely excited to be the first school district in Missouri to purchase one.  We hope that our electric bus pilot will pave the way for more schools to take advantage of all the benefits of owning one.  The first diesel bus that we took off the road was converted into a coffee shop.  This project exposes our students to a variety of experiences from designing, building, and on through the operating and managing a coffee shop, which they still do.
