The pandemic has been a bit disruptive, so if you're interested in running for the following offices, please contact the Faculty Advisor for our Psi Chi Chapter, Professor Patricia Xi (pxi@knox.edu):
President:
Delegate responsibilities to other officers and members so that all members are involved in committees and/or activities.
Keep a list of objectives with dates and deadlines.
Establish regular meeting times for the entire chapter, and officers and advisors.
Plan fund-raising functions.
Vice-President
Serve as program chair for the chapter by introducing speakers at local events and ensuring that all local events are properly publicized.
Support chairs of chapter committees as needed.
Assist the secretary in preparing a brief report of chapter activities to send to the Central Office each year.
Help the President report to the Faculty Advisor.
Secretary
Take and record the minutes of each meeting.
Keep a list of all committees of the chapter.
Help the Faculty Advisor maintain all records of the chapter.
Notify all members and advisors of the place and time of meetings, elections, inductions, and other chapter activities.
Treasurer
Work with the Faculty Advisor to verify information concerning Psi Chi funds, deposits, and accounts.
Establish a working budget with your chapter.
Report to the chapter on a regular basis, including an end-of-the-year report.
Newsletter/Journal Editor
Responsible for regularly releasing local publication(s).
Promote member accomplishments and upcoming events.
Elections Coordinator
Organize the nomination and election of chapter officers, preferably allowing ample time for the new officers to work with incumbent officers and become familiar with their duties of office.
Inform members of Society elections, and help them become familiar with the candidates.
