Are you wondering what good an engineering coach can be? Here are some options for how your Knowles Engineering coach can support you during the school year:

1. Your coach could share projects they’ve done. They will send you a short write up about a project every month with student-facing docs/presentations.
2. Your coach could brainstorm some ideas for you in your content area based on some content that you are going to teach.
3. Your coach could help you take a lab you already do (one you like or one you don’t like) and situate it in phase 3 of the design process, building out the remaining aspects of the design challenge.
4. Your coach could look over a project/design challenge that you’re developing and give you critical and encouraging feedback.
5. Your coach could listen to your plan, warn you about pitfalls, and then help you work to address them before you start.
6. Your coach could help you adapt a design challenge that you found online and are interested in.
7. Your coach could help you identify national engineering design challenges that you and your students could participate in.
8. Your coach could be an external ear or evaluator for your students’ projects.
9. Your coach could help you design a project that includes more than one discipline (i.e., include history, science, math, or art).
10. Your coach could help you think about what “data” you will collect as the students work in order to determine the success of this challenge.
