OVERVIEW - June 21st 2026
This hypothesis 'Towards a Universal Knowledge Theory', and the introductory video's below, have been created by Ron Young, founder of Knowledge Associates International, based in Cambridge UK.
What is knowledge? There are several very different approaches, definitions, philosophies / epistemologies of knowledge, that have been developed over the centuries by ancient knowledge philosophers, academics and modern knowledge management professionals and practitioners. We know enough about knowledge to be able to conduct meaningful knowledge driven practices as individuals, teams and organisations, and we have developed some useful standards for knowledge productivity, but we still need to better understand the origins of knowledge. Ron Young posits that to deeply understand knowledge we also need to explore both the universal and the quantum dimensions. His work with knowledge over the past 30 years, with both intuitive and intellectual knowledge, and the knowledge and AI driven economy, has led him to a hypothesis for a new knowledge theory. This hypothesis does not claim to be an agreed common view of Knowledge Associates companies, researchers, consultants and thought leaders, but rather, it represents his personal research, thoughts and practices which he now presents for a dialogue with scholars, scientists and seekers alike . The hypothesis deeply challenges many established views about knowledge and asks us to consider a new knowledge paradigm.
"knowledge is not a human possession but a universal property of reality and is the very language of the universe, expressed in patterns, network relationships, memory and isomorphic structures"
"intuition, imagination and creative intelligence are not marginal to knowledge, but central"
"we are participating in a universal expression of knowledge, a universe alive with knowing"
"we will listen to the ancient voices that already intuited it, we will explore the scientific discoveries that echo it, we will see how AI mirrors it"
Below is a 2:40 minute introduction and a 6:24 minute Chapter One. Both video's are presented by Ron Young's AI digital twin 'Ron2', which is connected to underlying AI models and knowledge bases. These emerging AI tools are empowering organisations to rapidly improve their critical knowledge creation, retention and application.

Towards a New Universal Theory of Knowledge
THE HYPOTHESIS
Knowledge is a universal property of reality. It arises through structural isomorphisms that repeat across scales — cosmic, molecular, biological, human, and artificial. These isomorphisms take the form of networks, records, holography, and transference.
Human epistemology is therefore one local expression of a larger cosmic epistemology, in which knowing is woven into the very fabric of existence.
Towards a New Universal Theory of Knowledge identifies a ‘Universal Grammar of Knowing’ through these four Structural Isomorphisms that repeat across all scales of reality:
Networks: From the Vedic Indra’s Net and the Cosmic Web of galaxies to the neural
networks of the human brain and AI.
Records: From the Akashic Records and the indestructible information of quantum fields to the biological library of DNA and our modern digital clouds.
Holography: The principle that the whole is present in every part, visible in fractals, human memory reconstruction, and the ‘Ocean in a Drop’ of mystical tradition.
Transference: The dynamic flow of patterns—from energy fields to the ‘informed flow’ of intuition and the data streams of artificial intelligence.
For the distinctly human knowledge perspective, these isomorphic forms can be observed in the five dimensions of personal, team, organisational, inter-organisational and global knowledge perspectives. Quantum physics and Astrophysics add the subatomic and universal perspectives.
