Librarian and 2nd/3rd Grade Teacher
The first part of my day is spent with my 2nd grade homeroom, teaching science and social studies. Before lunch, I also teach social studies to the 3rd grade. After lunch, library classes start and I see each homeroom twice a week. In addition, I am the STLP Coach, yearbook sponsor, UNITE Club sponsor, and Junior Beta Club Sponsor.
All About Me
I am originally from Neon, KY, in Letcher County. I graduated from Fleming-Neon High School and then attended the University of Kentucky. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Library Science, with a K-8 endorsement.
I have worked at Beaver Creek Elementary for 29 years. I married my husband, Brian, in 1996 and became a permanent Beaver resident. We have one son, Clay, and a daughter in love, McKenzie. Both are attending UPIKE Medical School and both have signed to work at MCHC.
I have devoted my career to the students of Beaver Creek Elementary and have loved my time here. Although I do not have as many years left here, I do intend to continue to contribute all I can to help the students learn, grow, and succeed to the best of their abilities. Beaver has always and a will always have a special place in my heart.
