Siyawasaka Sihanada
I had the opportunity to write an article for the book 'Siyawasaka Sihanada' published by the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation in celebration of the centenary of Sri Lankan radio. This article was written about the magazine 'Handa' (Sound), a publication of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, under the title "Airwaves Recorded on the Pages: The Role of the Radio ‘Hada’ Magazine".
A radio magazine primarily aims to promote, document, and analyze radio culture. This work involves interviews, various program guides, listener-participation content, feature writing, technical analysis, etc. An analysis of the content of the Handa magazine, published by the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, reveals that various steps have been taken to raise listeners' awareness of radio. This is discussed in detail in this article.
