Encore Educational Consulting is a boutique consulting company that believes regardless of chronological age or content being covered, learners of all ages need to be active participants in the learning process. We engage with clients to support them in identifying where they are and co-creating a path towards desired outcomes. In addition to catering to specific client aspirations we offer motivational keynote speaking, individual coaching, as well as short and long-term targeted professional development on curriculum and instruction, behavior management, leadership development, and cultural fluency.
Encore’s core practices include models for quantitative and qualitative data-driven continuous improvement, equity-based development, and coaching. As a trusted advisor and vision strategist, Encore's Team/ Encore’s CEO and Chief Strategist Dr. James helps PK-21, non-profit, and business partners accelerate outcomes around student achievement, leadership development, client services, and cultural fluency.
To collaborate with equity-minded partners to support the enhancement of embodied relational approaches to excellence in education and organizational practices. And, then to replicate that excellence.
As CEO and Chief Strategist for Encore Educational Consulting Dr. James’ mission is to support clients in systemic improvements for organizations that support the greater good of society by amplifying excellence ensuring that those served by her clients stand up and applaud. She has an extensive background in PK-21 education and leadership with a focus on cultural fluency, interdisciplinary learning, behavior management, and best practices in professional development that apply both within and outside of the world of education.
Dr. James earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Kinesiology, her Master’s in Inquiry Education from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and her Doctorate in Critical Pedagogy from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was a member of the inaugural AASA/Howard University Urban Superintendent certification program and is a certified administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory.
She is a proud mother, and in 2008 she became an Ironman by completing the 140.6-mile course in 14 hours, 9 minutes, and 31 seconds.
