This course is perfect for anyone who wants to learn more about computers and basic office applications!
Principles of Information Technology (PIT) meets in a computer lab. Students will learn the knowledge and skills associated with basic computer education. Students will develop computer skills that will help them in high school, college, and in their future career. Areas of study include keyboarding, telecommunications, networking, business ethics, and employability. Students will learn the basics of the Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher.
PIT is a project-based course. Students are expected to follow along with written instructions and/or video tutorials to complete their work in the time allotted.
Students are responsible for the costs of materials used in products they take home and other consumables.
This course is a full year high school credit course. Each semester must be passed independently to receive the full credit.
