Digital Design & Media Production (DDMP) meets in a computer lab. Students will obtain hands-on experience working with a variety of media tools (graphics/images, audio, and video) to design multimedia projects. Students will learn various software programs, like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, and will utilize hardware devices like digital cameras and Wacom tablets. Many of the projects in DDMP include art principles, like color theory, typography and composition.
DDMP is a project-based course. Students are expected to follow along with written instructions and/or video tutorials to complete their work in the time allotted. Students enrolled in this course should have proficient keyboarding skills and have previous experience using computers.
Students are responsible for the costs of materials used in products they take home and other consumables.
This course is a full year high school credit course. Each semester must be passed independently to receive the full credit.

Path Next step (6th and 7th grade course) is an introductory class that does not offer a high school credit. However, the course prepares the students for the Path 1 course (an 8th grade only class) which is a high school credit. Path is an Advanced Academics course, so basic computer skills are recommended.
Path is a class that fosters personal growth to help propel students into a successful post secondary path. The class focuses on developing the student based on actions that they can acquire while they’re still in middle school that will grow them into successful college students. The class's purpose is to provide information and assistance on topics such as: study skills, character education, making ethical and moral decisions, how to be a successful student, and more. The students also conduct an on campus community service project and embark on a college visit to Lone Star College!
Path 1 is a high school credit class, and includes both a semester and final exam. Student wishing to complete the high school credit should be willing to initiate and pace their own projects, and should be comfortable with self direction. Path 1 uses project based learning, and therefore, students who are interested should be willing to create and present products to show mastery of skills learned in class. Path is an Advanced Academics course, so basic computer skills are recommended.
Principles of Human Services is a Family and Consumer Sciences(FCS) based course that focuses on a broad range of topics in FCS. Students are encouraged to explore subjects such as personality studies, professionalism and business ethics, and entrepreneurship. Many students find that during our studies of various types of occupations they find new and exciting careers in technology that they were not otherwise aware of. Our entrepreneurship project spans the second nine weeks and is based solely on student interest- many students began businesses in photography, culinary arts, physical fitness, or retail clothing. Students will also be exposed to focused careers, and learn necessary skills, in nutrition and culinary arts, fashion and interior design, and child development. PHS includes basic life skills such as budgeting and money management, goal setting, and conflict resolution.

Principles of Information Technology (PIT) meets in a computer lab. Students will learn the knowledge and skills associated with basic computer education. Students will develop computer skills that will help them in high school, college, and in their future career. Areas of study include keyboarding, telecommunications, networking, business ethics, and employability. Students will learn the basics of the Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher.

Welcome to "Professional Communications with Career Focus!" This is an activity based career development course in which students will develop an understanding of professional communications through exploration of career clusters. Students will explore a variety of career options and activities including formal and informal presentations, resume writing, and job interviewing. Students will exhibit public relations skills, leadership characteristics, knowledge of the global economy, and information technology applications.
