Please be sure the backpack is big enough to fit a folder about 8.5x11. We send folders home and want to ensure all papers fit and are well protected. Don't forget to label the backpack with your child's name.
Please provide an extra change of clothes: shirt, pants/shorts, socks, and especially underwear. Label all clothing, place them in a bag and put them in your child's backpack for rainy days, accidents, or food spills.
We learn through hands-on activities and require a lot of materials and supplies. Please make sure your child has the supplies needed to join us in all the learning activities. If assistance is needed, please let me know.

BEFORE the First Day of School:
Talk to your child about school. Prepare your child by encouraging them. Label and name things they will encounter, like teacher, bus, working at tables with friends, and walking in the halls.
ON the First Day of School:
Kiss, hug, drop-off and leave. Though this may be hard for both you and your child initially, however, when you are gone, your child will focus more on their new friends and surroundings and warm up to the new environment.
AFTER the First Day of School:
Take time to talk, ask about school and be positive; give a big hug and lots of kisses for a great achievement. Mention how proud you are of your child and how your child is learning and growing.
