Welcome! I’m Dionna James. I’m extremely excited to serve as your counselor this year.  This will be my 13th year in education, and 5th year at Mittelstadt.  I’ve taught Kindergarten in Spring Branch ISD and spent majority of my career in Klein ISD at Nitsch Elementary School teaching 1st,2nd,3rd and 5th grades.

I am a native Houstonian, and proud product of Klein ISD; attending Nitsch Elementary, Klein Intermediate and graduating from Klein Forest High School. I received my Bachelors degree at Stephen F. Austin State University and my Masters in Counseling from Prairie View A & M University.  I'm a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. 

Outside of school, I have a growing business as a professional Makeup Artist, Barbara Elizabeth Beauty. I'm a dog mom, I love travelling, and shopping. 

I am passionate about building relationships with students, teachers, parents and the community to create a nurturing learning environment where students can thrive socially and excel academically. 

I look forward to working with you and your child! It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning and lots of adventure and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us!
