Mission #4: Begins March 15th and ends May 15th

These 8 new categories focus on all things fun! Enjoy this last round! Once you’re done with all 8, you’re invited to our End of Mission Party!

JOKES:

Read a JOKE book- Tell us 2 of the funniest jokes you read.

POEMS:

Read a collection of POEMS in a book- Memorize/read 1 poem that you loved and share it in the video.

AWARD:

Read a book that won an AWARD- Tell us which award it was and why you think it won.

HOW TO:

Read a “HOW TO..” book (Cooking, origami, drawing)- Complete 1 task from the book and share your product in the video.

OVERDRIVE:

Read a book on OVERDRIVE- Tell me if you like print books or digital books better. (Username is your S Number, Password is the last 4 digits of your S Number- Ex. S123456, 3456)

PEBBLE GO:

Sign in to PEBBLEGO on StudentNet-Research a topic of your choice and report 3 new facts you learned during your research. Find PebbleGo and PebbleGO Next on your Klein Dashboard. (Username- rothes, Password- rams12)

FREE CHOICE:

Book talk the book (Get me excited to read it, but don’t give away the ending, leave the audience wanting to know how it ends)

REFLECTION:

Get mom/dad to sit in on this video and the two of you should explain why you enjoyed the Mission to Greatness Reading Challenge Program.

After you read a book in a category, you should complete a Student Video Reflection or written response and you will receive credit.

You need access to the internet, your student’s Google Email, and a webcam (your phone works too). Visit our Mission to Greatness Website for more information on specifics. If you choose not to participate through technology, you can write a 3-5 sentence answer to the same question on the Student Video Reflection Page and turn it into the library. Be sure video and written responses are complete in order to receive credit.

You will be recognized on the SHELFIE Rocket outside of the cafeteria for every video you complete. Once you complete all 8 videos, your picture will be showcased around the Shelfie rocket. Stickers will be placed on the shelfie rocket once a week! In addition to your name being on the wall, you will be recognized weekly at Rise and Shine in the categories you have completed the video or written responses.

Once you receive ALL 8 stickers, you will be rewarded!

Once your name has traveled its way to all 8 categories on the Shelfie Rocket, you will be invited to our end of 9 weeks party.

If you complete all 4 reading challenges throughout the school year, you will be invited to the End of the Year Party and your name will be entered into a drawing for an Amazon Kindle (so you can keep reading!)

If you continue to complete more challenges, you can enter the drawing multiple times. Our Amazon Kindle Winner will be chosen at the End of the Year Party!
