Welcome to the Klein High Space Force JROTC Website!
Welcome to the Klein High SFJROTC TX-20005's Website! We constructed this website to provide you with a glimpse into all the aspects of our wonderful program. In this program, we build cadets to exceed high standards and build strong leadership skills within our corps.
We truly believe in our cadets and parents and hope that through this site, we can generate more involvement from parents and cadets alike. Thank you for visiting our site and we hope you visit us again.
Klein High School’s previously Air Force JROTC has been selected by the United States Air Force to convert its existing AFJROTC unit to the inaugural Texas-based Space Force JROTC unit beginning Fall 2021. Klein High AFJROTC will be making school, district, and state history by making this change. Klein High’s JROTC is one of 10 schools across the nation, and the only unit from the state of Texas chosen to spearhead this conversion to the new branch of the armed services.
The objectives of JROTC are to educate high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals. We strive to instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline in every cadet.
The SFJROTC program is grounded in the Space Force core values of character, courage, connection, and commitment. The curriculum emphasizes the Space Force heritage and traditions, space operations, military aerospace policies, and space exploration.
In an effort to produce well-informed and helpful citizens, SFJROTC encourages cadets to get involved in their local communities. The ability for cadets to create opportunities to give back to their community is one of the most unique and fun aspects of the SFJROTC experience. The number, type, and size of cadet community projects are limited only by their imagination.
KHAS, or Kitty Hawk Air Society, is known for keeping cadets involved by tutoring their peers and providing tutoring sessions for those who want additional learning opportunities.
This academic resource is available to all cadets within our corps, making it unique to our unit as compared to other organizations at Klein High School.
Through our Leadership Education (LE) Curriculum, cadets explore topics included but not limited to: Communication, Awareness, Leadership, Teamwork, Critical Thinking and Career Exploration under the guidance of the SASI & ASI.
Additionally, cadets will learn about Aerospace Science, Structural Dynamics, and Aircraft Design through our Science of Flight Unit
Our corps has many opportunities in leadership from Support Commanders, Teams Commanders, and Flight Commanders!
In SFJROTC, all cadets are given the ability to grow into positions of leadership. We believe that with support, everyone is a leader within our corps.
Team building exercises include obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, and field day sports.
We often incorporate group survival scenarios to learn how to utilize flight members' strengths in difficult situations.
With the various teams our corps provides, competitions are necessary to grow and develop. Our teams consistently prepare for competition by practicing every day after school according to the weekly schedule.
Joining teams is often the highlight of many cadets' high school careers! The opportunities provided help cadets learn and grow individually & together.
Our teams have performed numerous times at local community events, our very own Pep Rallies, and the Klein Open House / Community Night.
Our teams include:
Unarmed Drill teams, Armed Drill teams, Honor Guard, Rocketry, Orienteering, and more!
Not only do we work hard, but we play hard as well. We pride ourselves on an environment of acceptance within our corps and often have opportunities for cadets to meet each other and be exposed to unique environments through activities such as field trips and leadership courses.
Previous field trips have included:
iFly, the Capitol, and Military bases
Previous training activities have included:
Batan Death March and Newcombe Ranch
Cadets in our corps often volunteer at numerous service events, therefore practicing the Space Force core values: Character, Courage, Commitment, and Connection
