Interested in being a Technician and working on the crew?
WHAT WILL BE REQUIRED OF YOU UPON CASTING:
All students should keep up with school work. You must remain eligible to participate in the musical. If you fail a class, you will automatically be dismissed from the company per No Pass No Play Texas State Law.
Participation in the musical is a BIG time commitment. The directors reserve the right to recast or reassign positions if you are too often absent or unprepared.
Excessive absences are cause for dismissal.
Rehearsals begin with student led warm-ups. Student leaders are to be treated with respect. Failure to follow this rule will result in dismissal.
You will be required to purchase your own stage makeup.
All actors are responsible for learning their lines, remembering all blocking/choreography, and keeping up with their scripts. There will be a $30 fee if you lose or damage your libretto.
When you are called to rehearsal, you are expected to be on time. In case of emergencies, contact the stage manager immediately.
Everyone is responsible for their own transportation to and from rehearsals. Plan in advance if you plan to carpool. Do not wait until you’re supposed to be at rehearsal.
When you are not on stage rehearsing, you are expected to be sitting in the house, quietly watching rehearsal, going over lines/blocking, working on the show or homework without disrupting rehearsal.
All actors will be expected to respect ALL technicians. Technicians must show respect to all actors and crew members.
All students will be expected to abolish any “I can’t” or negative attitudes. The creative process will never work if you don’t try.
Once tech rehearsals and dress rehearsal begin, no absence from rehearsals will be excused. JANUARY ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY - These rehearsals include technicians and the pit. If you have conflicts in January, you will not be selected for the company.
All schedule conflicts must be submitted prior to auditioning. Time is precious during the show, and only those willing to make the commitment will be considered for casting.
It is your responsibility to keep up with the rehearsal calendar and check E-mail for important announcements.
Disciplinary action may include extra warm-ups, understudy stand-ins, recasting, dismissal from the show, etc.
No gum, food, or drink in the auditorium at any time. No cell phone use during rehearsal.
All actors are responsible for the care of their own costumes and props.
Actors should be in rehearsal attire as follows:
Plain, white T-Shirt, Gray or Black sweatpants/yoga pants that you can move in, and closed-toe shoes that you can move/dance in, hair pulled out of face.
All actors are expected to supply their own shoes for the production (this may include character shoes, dress shoes, tap shoes, etc.). Specialty shoes will be provided by Klein Drama.
Reminder: You will be dismissed from the company if you become ineligible due to a grade failure, continuous disruptive/negative behavior, or more than 3 unexcused absences. This applies to actors, technicians, and musicians.
