All You Need to Know About Graduation
Each student is allotted 10 tickets and 2 parking passes and they will be distributed on May 25 from 8:00-9:00, just before graduation practice. You must have all fines, fees, and technology cleared before you receive your tickets. Any student who does not need all 10 tickets may leave the extras with us. We will then have a distribution of any unneeded ticks on May 26 from 2:00-4:00 in the front entrance area of the school. These will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The first cap and gown distribution has already happened. If you still need to purchase your cap and gown, visit mygradaccount.com to place your order. All orders placed after the first distribution will be available at Graduation Practice on May 25, or you can pick up your gown from Herff Jones directly, located near Klein Oak High School.
Cords for clubs and organizations will be ordered and distributed by club sponsors. Please see your club sponsor if you have a question about qualifications for earning a cord or want to know when they will be distributed.
Honor graduate cords will be distributed at Senior Awards.
AP and Dual Credit cords will be ordered by the school and distributed at graduation practice in May.
The only stoles that will be allowed at the graduation ceremony are NHS or military stoles. All other clubs must be a cord.
May 25. 8:00 a.m. Graduation seat and tickets distribution in the cafeteria. 9:00 a.m. graduation practice in the auditorium.
We will start in the cafeteria with distribution of seat assignments, graduation tickets, and parking passes. Then, transition to the auditorium for a brief overview of graduation. Then, we will practice lining up for the actual ceremony in the gym area.
All fines and fees must be paid to receive your seat assignment, tickets, and parking passes. A cashier will be available if you need to pay any outstanding balances.
Eligible National Honor Society members will be able to purchase their graduation stoles. Stoles are to be purchased by the student's family. Please refer to the Schoology Group for NHS for all the details. Remember, if you are not eligible for NHS stole and arrive at graduation with one on, you will be asked to remove it and place it in a bag to be picked up after the ceremony. Only those who have met the requirements of NHS will be allowed to wear them.
See the graduation packet for a detailed dress code.
Students may NOT decorate their caps. Any decorated caps will be swapped for an undecorated cap at the graduation ceremony.
Please note that all KISD rules and regulations for student conduct still apply to student behavior expectations for the graduation ceremony. During the graduation ceremony, mature conduct is expected. This is a formal ceremony to which parents and guests have been invited. The staff has worked hard to make this a dignified occasion that will be a cherished memory for all participants and guests. Please do not talk or use cell phones (no texting) during any point of the graduation ceremony.
The graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. at Klein Memorial Stadium. Please allow ample time for travel and parking. Only Cain seniors will be admitted to the lineup area. Do not bring anything with you that would need to be claimed after graduation (cameras, bags, purses, etc). See the graduation packet for more detailed information.
There will be a limit of 10 guest seats per graduate. Tickets and parking passes will be distributed at graduation practice (Date TBD in late May). Guests MUST have a ticket to enter the stadium, so please do not lose your tickets once they have been distributed. Tickets are not replaceable.
All tickets are general admission and you are encouraged to sit on the same side of the field as your graduate. Side A is the visitor side (off Stuebner Airline) and Side B is the home side (off Lyons School Rd.).
Live Streaming of the entirety of each ceremony for family/guests who cannot attend in person will occur. See the graduation packet in late April or early May for the live stream link.
Graduates will arrive at 6:30 p.m. When all graduates are assembled, they will wait until the Marshals lead the lines out. A teacher is assigned for each group of 40 students to make sure that they stay in the proper order.
The processional will begin promptly at 8:00 p.m.
Walk two steps directly behind the person in front of you.
Do not allow large distances to develop between you and the person in front of you.
Pair off with the person who comes up, whether it is the person you practiced with you or not.
Proceed with the proper row and seat assignment and remain standing until all graduates are in place.
The recessional will begin immediately following the closing/benediction. Remain in your place of order at all times and follow instructions from the floor Marshals. Each row will wait until the preceding row is clear before beginning its march. DO NOT ENTER THE CENTER AISLE. The recessional uses the side aisles only.
After the ceremony, graduates will go back into Klein High School cafeteria to pick up their diplomas and diploma covers. You will then head back to Klein Memorial Stadium to meet your family.
Students with financial obligations or textbook holds will not receive a diploma at this time.
Flash Photography is the vendor who took official graduation photos on stage and behind the stage. As soon as they have processed all photos, they will email families using the contact information provided by the graduates at the photo booth on graduation day. If you have any questions about photos, you can visit https://flashphotography.com or call them at 214-443-9393.
Klein ISD also took unofficial, candid photos throughout the day. You can find this photo album at https://www.flickr.com/photos/kleinisd/sets/72177720299330242/
Parking at Klein Memorial Stadium is FREE. Parking Map
Please note - each graduate gets only 2 parking passes. If they choose to drive themselves to the ceremony, they will need to use one of these parking passes. We encourage seniors to get dropped off by family members or carpool with each other.
