I began my journey in the arts as a classically trained vocalist. However, my passion for self-expression soon led me to shift my focus to the visual arts. I pursued my artistic education at California State University, Bakersfield, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in art in 2005.
Since then, I have had the privilege of showcasing my artwork in numerous exhibits across the United States; including California and New York. In 2008, I was featured on the front cover of Art Business News with an article about breaking into the art business and my artwork is featured in public and private collections throughout the United States.
As an artist and educator, I am deeply dedicated to my craft. I find great joy in teaching my students the techniques and skills needed to excel in their artistic endeavors. Through the exploration of Application, Art History, and Criticism, I strive to instill a strong foundation in my students and guide them towards unlocking their artistic potential.
My name is Mrs. Villalta, a native Houstonian who was raised in the Spring area. I discovered my passion for art during middle school when I participated in several art shows. As my artistic journey continued into high school, my work was featured in a local exhibit, where a few pieces were even sold. These experiences, coupled with the influence of renowned artists such as Dali, Kahlo, Rivera, and Bob Ross, fueled my love for art.
Inspired by these artists, I have dedicated myself to embodying their creativity, always seeking to grow and evolve as an artist while maintaining confidence in my craft. This influence has driven me to pursue a career in teaching, with a specific focus on nurturing and inspiring young artists to leave their own artistic mark.
While my personal artwork predominantly utilizes acrylics and oil paint, I have also explored various other mediums and techniques including clay, fiber art, collage, and printmaking. Continual education and experimentation are essential aspects of my artistic journey, as I constantly push myself to expand my knowledge and skills.
