Writing Ideas (30 minutes M,T,W,Th)

Choice Menu Directions:: Choose an item below to use during your writing time.You may only do # 1,#2 , # 3, # 4 and #5 once a week. Number 6 has a list of writing prompts.

1. Readers Response: Write about the fictional book that you are reading about. Include all of the information from the questons below in your paragraph.

*What is the title of your book?

*What is the main character’s name and what do they look like?

*What is the main problem that the character is trying to overcome?

*How has the main character tried to solve their problem?

2. Readers Response.

*Draw a picture of your favorite part of your story so far.

*Write about why this is your favorite part. (3 - 5 sentences)

*Use character names and add details

3. Create a poster for your book the size of notebook paper. In the poster include:

*the title

*the author

*a small illustration

*the lesson the author wants us or the main character to learn

4. Write a letter to your grandparent and mail it.

5. Write a thank you note or create a poster to thank first responders (doctors /nurses) for helping take care of those with the Covid 19 virus. Send it to one of the hospitals.

6. Writing Prompts: Choose a writing prompt and write on the topic for 30 minutes.

*Write about how you feel about staying home. What do like about it? What do you dislike about it? (Tip: 1 paragraph can be about what you like about staying home, and paragraph 2 can be about what you dislike about staying home.)

*Write about how you are showing your family kindness while you are staying home.

*Write about what you would like to do this summer.

*Write about what you and your family are doing for fun.

*Create a shape poem

*The strangest dream I have ever had was . . .

*The happiest moment in my life was when . . .

*When I grow up I want to . . .

*My biggest goal in life is . . .

*Write about your pet . . .

*The best book I ever read was . . .

*If I could be any animal I would like to be
