Tryouts
Tryouts will be held Friday, January 20th and Saturday, January 21st, 2023. Here are some frequently asked questions about the tryout process.
You MUST have a physical on file with the school in order to attend tryouts.
- How do I sign up for tryouts? There are flyers all around campus posted on the walls that have a QR code. You will need to scan this code and completely fill out the google form by Wednesday, January 19.
When are tryouts? Tryouts will be a two day process, held on Friday January 20 and Saturday January 21. On Friday January 20 we will begin at 3:00pm on the Klein Forest baseball field.
Who can attend tryouts? Anyone that is currently enrolled at Klein Forest High School.
Can you play more than one sport? Yes, if your current season is still in progress please reach out to Coach Darneal at jdarneal1@kleinisd.net and he will explain the process.
How many teams will the Klein Forest baseball program have? There will be 3 different baseball teams: varsity, junior varsity, and sophomore teams.
Are freshmen allowed to participate in the baseball program? Yes, freshmen can and do participate in the baseball program. Generally, the sophomore team is comprised on primarily freshmen and sophomores.
Who can make the varsity team? Anyone that we feel can help the team, grade classification does not matter.
How many players will be carried in the entire program? Normally, there can be anywhere from 40-50 players kept in the baseball program.
What will I need to bring with me to tryouts? If you have them then you will need to bring baseball pants, hat, cleats, glove, and a bat. Please do not go buy new equipment until after you have made the team.
Do the teams play over Spring Break? Yes, and EVERY player will be expected to be at every game and every practice with NO exceptions.
