My name is Carrie Bickford. I am blessed to be a 6th grade math teacher at Hofius Intermediate in Klein ISD. I am proud to have taught elementary school for 23 years, 16 of those in the Klein district as a classroom teacher and math/science instructional specialist.
Here is the 3-2-1 about me...
I rely heavily on the idea of productive struggle during independent practice. This instructional method allows me to use questioning for students who are struggling. This should lead them to a higher level of skill and concept understanding.
I insist you know your basic math facts. If you are already a master, that's amazing! If you are still working toward mastery, I will assess, monitor, and guide you to complete mastery by the end of the year.
I believe in positive, encouraging, and respectful relationships with students and their families. I am here for you. I will be honest with you. I will do my very best to help you achieve your goals, as long as you know what your goals are.
I am married with five children.

Austin is forever 25. Please buckle your seatbelts every time you are in a vehicle, folks. Visit the Kailee Mills Foundation for more information.
I am a proud Klein ISD alumni. I attended Nitsch Elementary, Klein Intermediate, and Klein Forest High School, class of 1992.
One thing I love more than teaching math is using Ed Tech to teach math. Get ready, 6th graders...you are going to level up your learning in ways you have never experienced. We will have a happy balance of hands-on tasks and computer tasks during class.
